Fashion Council Germany and Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises successfully carried out an extensive coaching and workshop programme on the key topics of digitalisation and sustainability. Berlin fashion brands were made internationally competitive through technical support, personal coaching and digitalisation workshops.

The Corona crisis has shaken the fashion industry in many ways, but it has shown one thing in particular: that especially in the small-scale fashion landscape there is a need to catch up in the use of digitalisation applications. The Berlin fashion industry is affected by this due to its high number of young designers and companies. This posed challenges for fashion designers, but also offered opportunities for a sustainable and digitally networked redesign of their own business models. The three-month programme entitled DIGITAL FASHION FUTURE READINESS (DFFR) included personal coaching sessions, expert webinars, participation in the Modcast podcast, video productions and an exhibition in the digital 3D showroom of the Fashion Council Germany. The project participants were Esther Perbandt, Faulhaber Products, Malaika Raiss, Marcel Ostertag, Nana Bodywear, Natascha von Hirschhausen, Nove, Novicewear, William Fanand Working Title.

"Of course everyone is aware that we need to find digital solutions for the fashion industry. But what digitalisation in fashion actually means and which areas it all encompasses, I only realised by participating in the DFFR programme. It's not only about working out the e-commerce area, not only about the areas that are immediately visible to the customer from the outside. There are endless possibilities to also restructure the internal structures and processes, which previously took a lot of time and effort, in a sustainable way. The year 2020 was not only the year of digitalisation for me, but also the year of professionalisation of my brand thanks to the help of the Fashion Council Germany." – Esther Perbandt, participant of the DFFR programme

Together with the Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy and Industry, the Fashion Council Germany e.V. set up a comprehensive coaching and workshop programme on the key topics of digitalisation and sustainability. DIGITAL FASHION FUTURE READINESS (DFFR), together with ten solution partners, imparted knowledge and expertise on digitalisation and sustainability to Berlin fashion labels. The three-month programme included personal coaching sessions, expert webinars, participation in the Modcast podcast, video productions and an exhibition in the digital 3D showroom of the Fashion Council Germany.
