    Neo.Fashion. 2021 digital – Best Graduates

    Everything is different, everything is digital! As part of Berlin Fashion Week and beyond Neo.Fashion. 2021 will be in a digital format. From January 18th 2021 on ten Universities from all over Germany will show their Best Graduates’ presentation videos.

    Over the past years a new platform for fashion newcomers in Germany has been established with Neo.Fashion. Just like at Graduate Fashion Week London we are creating the possibility to offer a stage for the creative young people in Germany.

    The current Corona situation is challenging the universities, graduates and us as well, the organizers of Neo.Fashion.

    Therefore ‘Neo.Fashion. 2021’ will be hosted in a digital format for the first time: ‘Studying Fashion Design in times of Corona: difficulties, challenges and possibilities!’ from 18th of January until 18th of March 2021. Ten Universities from all over Germany will join ‘Neo.Fashion. 2021 digital’:

    In addition to the presentation videos we will show photos, videos, interviews and many exciting stories on the channels of Neo.Fashion. as well as on all the channels of the Universities and partners – their websites, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. The goal is to bring the topic ‘Studying Fashion Design in times of Corona: difficulties, challenges and possibilities!’ closer to public.

    For the first time the Berlin Fashion Film Festival in cooperation with Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week will be included in the official calendar. In a stunning digital presentation at Kraftwerk Berlin, the highly curated screenings and talks with outstanding creatives will take place. The best fashion films of the decade will be shown and the people behind the scenes will be highlighted.

    BLNKS is a German brand founded in 2016. Born from Malte Blank‘s vision, its Creative Director and a passionate sneakerhead. Convinced by the vision and the mix of traditional know-how with bold and futuristic designs, Frederik Dreeke and Alexandre Pineau joined the brand.

    Fashion Council Germany study "Status of German Fashion"

    The Fashion Council Germany e.V. commissions the first study on the "Status of German Fashion". The representative body of the German fashion industry aims to analyse the reputation and relevance of the German fashion industry and to address its influence on the economy and culture. The Fashion Council Germany e.V. is striving for the first survey of a report that looks at the core of the German fashion industry with inclusion of all relevant industries of the entire value chain. The aim of the study is to show the size and relevance of the German fashion industry and to quantify its contribution to the German economy.

    Kids of the Diaspora is a Vienna based fashion movement founded by Leni Charles and Cherrie O in 2016. The label focuses on gender neutral collections and dedicates them to people who question the concept of minority, a soultribe of no specific age, gender etc.

    Supported by the Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy and Operations, new show formats and stagings set the framework program of the MBFW at Kraftwerk Berlin and shape the prelude to a fashion week characterized by innovation, sustainability and digitalization with the claim to reposition Berlin as a location for German and sustainable fashion concepts.

    In individually staged sets and locations - presented by Mercedes-Benz - the Belgian designer and winner of the "Grand Prix du Jury Première Vision" of the 35th International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Fashion Accessories in Hyères Tom Van Der Borght will open the MBFW.
