Achieving circularity and transparency from donated clothes

tHERAPY Recycle and Exorcise meets Textilhafen's Material Pool from the Berliner Stadtmission One of the main issues for upcycling designers is the sourcing of materials. More and more second hand and vintage clothes, are becoming part of the same fashion consumption system which is being questioned. The matter today for upcycling designers is not only to have access to enough materials with certain qualities and quality. But also that the circulation and commercialization of those materials be already transparent and be itself part of the positive impact upcycling designers want to create.

The talk will be streamed LIVE via Instagram, on @therapy_berlin and @textilhafen

Aurelia Paumelle - From leftover to elegant upcycling bag

Aurelia is a French Fashion Designer, she launched her eponym brand in 2011. Each of her small collections comprises carefully thought-through and exceptionally well-tailored pieces. Impeccable cuts along with subtle details - souvenir of her Parisian experience at Vanessa Bruno, Sonia Rykiel, Balenciaga, John Galliano and Yves St Laurent - are applied to the simplest and comfortable garments. She is now having her shop in Prenzlauer Berg near Helmholtzplatz. With her genuine fashion conscious approach and “savoir-faire”, Aurelia Paumelle designs limited clothing editions in her Berliner Atelier-Boutique.
The designer believes in a fashion revolution and in conscious consumers : this is the reason why she wants to organize events on the subject of sustainability. She believes that people can be educated through workshops, conferences and meetups.
